He was a member of Banock Masonic Lodge #824, the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite South Bend Valley (Indiana), and General Richard Butler Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution. He retired from Inland Steel Corporation in East Chicago, Indiana, where he had worked for many years as a foreman in the chemical testing department. He was a farmer and CFO for Sure Care of Kentucky.
Other than his parents and wife he is preceded in death by one brother, V.L. Taylor, one sister, Lodema Botts and one step grandson Craig Givens.
