James Peter Bacot Jr., 86, died peacefully at Lagniappe Nursing Home in Bastrop on November 19, 2014.He was born to the late James Peter Bacot Sr. and Marie Moore Bacot on July 26, 1928 in Bolton, Miss.He
was a World War II veteran, an avid fisherman and hunter, was
self-employed at Jimmie's TV Sales and Service for many years in
Bastrop, and later worked at Daniel Appliance and Furniture in Monroe
until his retirement. He was preceded in death by his parents; his
beloved wife, Bertha Nell Giambrone Bacot; a son, James P. Bacot III,
and a grandson, Steven Victor Strickland. Survivors are his sister,
Marie Bacot of New Orleans; a son, William Joseph Bacot and wife, Gwyn
of Natchez, Miss.; two daughters, Janice Carol Strickland and husband
Steve of Fayetteville, Ark. and Frances Marie Ryals and husband, Gary of
Rogers, Ark.; eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and a host
of other relatives.A graveside service and burial will be held at
the Bolton Cemetery in Bolton, Miss. at 11 a.m. on November 21, 2014
under the direction of Sebrell Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church in Bastrop where he was a member for over 50 years.


United States Army veteran, served during the Vietnam War as a specialist 4th class.
