Pearlie was educated in the Pickens County Education System for the Colored, graduating from Aliceville High School in 1960. She attended Stillman College in Tuscaloosa Alabama to become a teacher.
Tulsa, Oklahoma, became her permanent home when she met and married Willard Brown, Jr. on August 22, 1965. To this union, five (5) children were born. She loved her family fiercely and showed her children through her loving example how to work hard, help others and be productive parts of society. She began working at FO-MAC as an injection molder, in 1973. She worked diligently "as unto the Lord" for forty-two (42) years, until her health failed her.
On August 23, 2018, after a hard-fought battle, she peacefully entered eternal rest. One of Pearlie's mottos was to leave things better than they were when you got there. Our lives are truly better from her seventy-six (76) years of life, she has touched countless hearts with love, kind words, gestures and encouragements. It was her joy to serve the Lord through serving others. Her sweet, gentle calming spirit will always be remembered and sorely missed.
She is preceded in death by her parents Robert Earl and Mary Jane Jemison and her beloved aunt/ surrogate mother Annie Pearl Earvin.
She leaves to cherish her memory her husband of fifty-three (53) years, Willard Brown, Jr. of Owasso, OK; her children Janice (Jimmy) Johnson of Houston, TX., Julian (Andrea) Brown of El Paso, TX, Jennifer (Fred) Noble, Bill (Jamie) Brown, Robert (Dekisha) Brown, Rubie (Tyrance) Billingsley all of Tulsa, OK; grandchildren Joseph, Jordan, Audrianna, Julian, Jr., Dominique, Jasmine, Danielle, Savannah, William, Truly, Addyson, Aryn, Jasmine, Keiah and Tyrance, Jr.; five (5) great-grands; best friend Rose Potts of St. Louis, MO.; special cousins Lucy Summerville, Mary Lee Crim, both of Birmingham, AL, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
