While at work at the National Quarry south of Clear Creek this afternoon, Andrew Zikes, aged 72, of Harrodsburg was almost instantly killed when a stone that was being lifted by a derrick fell. The accident was due to the "dogs" slipping.
The aged man was struck on the head and had his skull crushed.
He is survived by his family.
