Patricia A. Winton (June 25, 1960 - August 20, 2018)

August 20, 2018 Patricia A. Winton died peace-fully at home under the care of her loved ones and Yolo Hospice on Monday August 20, 2018. She was 58 years old and was born on June 25, 1960 in Stockton, CA and resided in Davis, CA with her beloved husband of 20 years, Richard Sapudar, whom she married on April 18, 1998. She attended Grover Cleveland Elementary School, Stockton Jr. High School, and Franklin High School, graduating in 1978 as High School Athlete of the Year. Her education continued at the University of California, Davis, receiving her Bachelor of Science in Geology in 1982.

She worked for UCD upon graduation in the Geology Department as a Lab Assistant/Computer Programmer, followed by a notable career of 27 years as a Computer Systems Administrator for the State of California Assembly Computer Services and Legislative Data Center, receiving an Assembly and Senate Resolution upon her retirement in 2015. Pat was very active in several pursuits and beloved by all who met her. Some of her activities and community involvement include several years playing league soccer, acting as coach and referee for Davis AYSO (Youth) soccer, sports of all kinds, ancestry research, live theater and musical shows and traveling with the love of her life.

She also enjoyed gourmet cooking, often entertaining friends at home with her new culinary creations. More recently, she became a member of the Lighthouse Masonic Lodge in San Rafael, CA, which is a part of the George Washington Union coed Masonic organization where she rose to the fellowcraft level, something she enjoyed very much. She was an active member of the UC Davis Arboretum and Public Garden Volunteer Plant Group which brought her a great deal of joy working on the butterfly and hummingbird sections of the UC Davis gardens. She is survived by her loving husband, Richard Sapudar; sisters, Sandra L. Folmer (Winton) of Shingle Springs, CA and Susan Winton of Lakeside, OR.

Friends are invited to attend a memorial service on September 14, 2018 at 1:00 PM at the Park View Cemetery, 3661 East French Camp Road, Manteca, CA 95336. Pat and family ask that, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to a charity or organization of your choice or to ones that Pat and Rich support such as the Shriners Hospitals for Children, Sacramento, CA, WEAVE, Yolo Hospice, American Cancer Society, American Youth Soccer Organization (AYSO) Davis.
