Marjorie Louise LePage, 81, of Joplin, beloved wife, sister, mother and grandmother, died suddenly of leukemia on September 8, 2018.

Marjorie was born on September 2, 1937, to Edward and Louise Mettlach of Pierce City, Missouri. She grew up on their beautiful farm, attending St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Pierce City, and graduating with honors as salutatorian from Pierce City High School in 1955.

Marjorie married Patrick LePage on February 15, 1958, and they had five children. Marjorie devoted her life to caring for her family and to serving her church. She and Patrick sent all five children to the Joplin Catholic School system, cheering them on through their many academic and extracurricular activities.

She served Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Webb City as a Eucharistic Minister, member of the church’s shut-in ministry, and coordinator of the funeral dinner committee. Marjorie worked to promote parish unity for more than 50 years by serving an uncountable number of donuts and pots of coffee.

Marjorie is survived by her husband, their five children, fifteen grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and two brothers.

Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Louise Mettlach.

Visitation and rosary were held Tuesday from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Thornhill-Dillon Mortuary, Joplin, Missouri. Funeral Mass was Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Webb City, Missouri, with Father Rahab Isidor officiating, assisted by Father Francisco “Paco” Gordillo. Funeral dinner followed the Mass. Interment was at St. Agnes Cemetery, south of Sarcoxie, Missouri.
