Virginia Ann Whitfield, 78, of Dodd City, TX, passed away Wednesday, September 5, 2018 in Bonham, TX. She was born September 24, 1939 in Pheba, MS to Louie and Lois (Blake) Watkins. Virginia married Charlie Whitfield on November 14, 1955 in Denton, TX.
She is survived by her three sons, James Whitfield and wife Karen of Dodd City, TX, Jacky Whitfield and wife Erin of Telephone, TX, Jerry Whitfield and wife Yvonne of Bonham, TX; four daughters, Teressa Barnes and husband Danny of Dodd City, TX, Marsha Whitfield of Bonham, TX, Sandra Roberts of Bonham, TX, Rhonda Moon of Ector, TX; seventeen grandchildren; forty great-grandchildren; twenty-two great-great-grandchildren; brother, James Richard Watkins Griffith of Aubrey, TX; sister, Linda Kay Miller and husband Lawrence of Denton, TX; two uncles, Clifton Blake of Picayune, MS, Joe Ray Blake of Ackerman, MS; and numerous cousins.
Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, Louie and Lois; infant brother; sister, Janice Watkins; and step-mother, Marie Watkins.
Visitation will be held 1:00PM-2:00PM, Saturday, September 8, 2018 at Slay Memorial Chapel in Aubrey, TX and the graveside service will begin at 2:30PM with Paul Whitfield officiating at Tioga Cemetery in Tioga, TX.
