Raymond J. Klocke, 79, of Virden, IL passed away at 12:10 AM, Saturday, September 8, 2018 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. Raymond was born June 22, 1939 in a log cabin in Knox County Missouri, a son of Raymond W. and Maurita (Burkhart) Klocke. He married Elizabeth "Libby" Woodard on August 16, 1957 in Edina, Missouri.
Raymond was a member of the First Baptist Church in Virden, IL where he served as Moderator and Deacon. He loved to garden and shared his produce with his friends and neighbors. Many will remember Raymond for his stories and jokes he told.
Surviving Raymond is his wife, Elizabeth "Libby" Klocke of Virden, IL; daughters, Carol S. (Pat) Woolf of Maryville, TN, Debbie L. Klocke of Aurora, IL, Patricia A. (Scott) Englert of St. Charles, MO, Barbara J. (Tony) Taylor of Alabaster, AL; half-sister, Sharon Kemper of Clayton, IL; half-brothers, Leland and Elvin D. Klocke both of Edina, MO; 5 grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Preceding Raymond in death are his parents; step-mother, Buelah (True) Klocke; brother, Bill Klocke and half-sister, Linda Klocke.
Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. Thursday, September 13, 2018 at the Calvert & Ferry Funeral Home. Graveside service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, September 14, 2018 at the Bee Ridge Cemetery, Edina, MO with the Rev. John Parrish officiating.
Memorial may be made to the First Baptist Church, Virden, IL.
