ELKHART- Steve Thomas Berry, 65, of Elkhart, lost his battle with COPD on Wednesday September 5, 2018 in the care of the Center for Hospice, who took compassionate care of him for the past year. He was born May 28, 1953 in Elkhart to Verlin Eugene & Dorcas Jean (Maust) Berry who preceded him in death.
Steve is survived by a sister, Jennifer Huffman (Richard) of Goshen, a brother, Jeff Berry (Terri) of Edwardsburg, MI, a daughter, Kelly Berry of Chicago and 2 grandchildren, Mercy and J.T. II, and 1 sister, Andrea Berry of Gamboa, NY.
Steve loved the ocean and sailing. He spent much of his life in Florida and Mississippi close to the water. He came back north 7 years ago to be closer to family.
No service is planned at this time. Elkhart Cremation Services is entrusted with his care. Memorial contributions cam be given to the Center for Hospice Care in his name.
