February 25, 1932 – August 23, 2018

Bobby Gene Howell, age 86, of Stockbridge passed away Thursday, August 23rd, 2018. He was born in Union Grove, Alabama to the late Ethel Griffin Howell and Wade Edgar Howell.
Mr. Howell was preceded in passing by his siblings; Christine of Ellenwood, Lorene of Glencoe, AL, Hughdean of Kennesaw, and a baby brother who lived only a few short days.
Mr. Howell served in the Army from 1951 to 1961 and was in the Korean War. He was always a working man, retiring in his 70's. He was an outdoorsman, who loved yard work, fishing, the mountains, and the beach. He loved Gatlinburg and Panama City Beach in particular. Mr. Howell was a devoted church member, and attended the First Baptist Church of Stockbridge for 37 years. Mr. Howell was always a kind and helpful person, helping anyone who needed him.
Mr. Howell is survived by his son and daughter; Debbie (Herman) Byrd of Zebulon and Steve (Teresa) Howell of Marietta; grandchildren, Jessica (Kaleb) Stephens of Meansville, Jason (Tiffany) Howell of Canton, and Shane (Amanda) Bateman of Jasper; great-grandchildren, Jordan and Jaylen Howell of Canton; and his brother, James Wade Howell of Stockbridge.
A visitation for Mr. Howell will be held Tuesday, August 28th, 2018 at The First Baptist Church of Stockbridge between the hours of 11 am and 12 pm. Funeral services will be held immediately following the visitation. An interment in Fairview Memorial Gardens will follow the Funeral Services.
