Claude Lawrence Needham, 97, of Asheboro died Monday, July 30, 2018 in Anchorage, AK. Mr. Needham was born May 6, 1921 in Moore County to Joseph Manley and Lillie Mae Needham.

He was a long-time resident of Seagrove and an Army veteran of WWII serving in the South Pacific. Mr. Needham was retired from Eveready Battery and was former owner of 220 Pottery and Statuary in Seagrove. He was a former Boy Scout Master for Troop #513 in Seagrove. He was a member of Huldah Baptist Church where he was a former choir director. In addition to his parents, Mr. Needham was preceded in death by his wife, Chelsea King Needham.

He is survived by his daughter, Vickie Cable of Anchorage, AK; sons, Michael Lawrence Needham of Seagrove, Steve Needham and wife Janie of Asheboro; grandchildren, Michael Ryan Needham and fiancé Emily Saephan of Asheboro, Erica Beth Needham of Seagrove, Elliott Cable of Chicago, IL.

The family will receive friends Friday, Aug 3, 2018 from 6-8 pm at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Ave., Asheboro. Funeral services will be held Saturday, Aug 4, 2018 at 11am in the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel. Burial with military honors by the Randolph County Honor Guard will be at Huldah Baptist Church.
