Virginia Foy, 104 years, of Fremont, NE died Friday, September 7, 2018 at Nye Pointe Health and Rehabilitation in Fremont.
Virginia was born in Omaha, NE on June 27, 1914 to Alston D. and Maryann (Hopkins) Barnum.
She lived her younger years in Omaha and was a graduate of Omaha North High School. She worked for the Omaha Housing Authority before moving to Fremont.
Virginia married Jerry Foy at Our Lady of Lords Catholic Church in Omaha on June 30, 1951. They moved to Fremont and she worked with her husband at Jerry Foy Real Estate in Fremont until his death on July 9, 1978. She continued to live in Fremont.
She was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Fremont and Pi Beta Phi social sorority; volunteered for the Election Board and at the hospital gift shop.
She is survived by a daughter, Connie Foy Hankins, son-in-law, Charles Hankins both of Peoria, AZ and grandson, Colin Hankins of Denver, CO; nephew, Brian and wife, Pam Foy of Fremont; and many close relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jerry Foy; brothers, Walter Barnum and Duane Barnum.
Funeral Mass will be 10:30 A.M., Wednesday, September 12, 2018 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church Fremont. Visitation will be Tuesday, from 5 PM to 8 PM with a Rosary at 7 PM all at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont. Visitation will continue on Wednesday one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Fremont.
