MRS. CAROLYN PATTON IS CLAIMED BY DEATH
Carolyn Hamilton Patton was born April 18, 1890, in Austin, Texas, and passed away at Purple Hills Nursing Home Thursday morning following an illness of about five years. Mrs. Patton came to Bandera about one month ago. She died about 4:50 a.m., Thursday, April 14, 1966.
Mrs. Patton was the daughter (sic. granddaughter) of the Governor of Texas, Andrew Jackson Hamilton, who was appointed by Abraham Lincoln to serve as Governor of Texas during 1861-1865.
Survivors include one daughter Mrs. Barbara Kindla of Bandera; three sisters, Mrs. Tommye Aunspaugh of Dallas, Mrs. Katherine Parish of Miami Beach, Florida, and May Miller of Galveston; one grandson, Phil Kindla, of Bandera; and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Patton was a member of the Episcopal Church and funeral services will be conducted today, Friday, April 15, at 3 p.m., at St. Christopher's Episcopal Church with Rev. Arlen Towers, officiating.
Interment will be in the Bandera Cemetery under the direction of Plummer Funeral Home. Pall bearers will be Bennie Adamietz, Ed Dougherty, Frank Trautman, Steve Parkinson, Phil Heavnor, and M. E. Fries. Honorary pall bearers will be C. W. Redman, Chas. Pollard, L. L. Bright, Frank Anderwald, Vincent Anderwald and George Cooper.
Mrs. Patton will be remembered here as a gracious lady by many friends. She has been a frequent visitor to this community and she leaves besides her sorrowing family many friends to mourn her passing.
