Alvin Turman, 84, of Danville, passed away on September, 5, 2018, at SOVAH-Danville. He was born on August 20, 1934, in Dugspur, son of Joseph Turman and Pearlie Duncan Turman. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of the Redmen and Faith Memorial Baptist Church. He was a dirt track racecar driver during the 60s and 70s. Before retirement, he worked as a delivery driver and JC Penny Auto Center. He is survived by his son, Alton Turman; one grandson; siblings, Zefra Webb, Fern Nolan and James Turman. In addition to his parents, Mr. Turman was predeceased by his wife, Shirley Jones Turman; sister, Rebecca Cox. Burial will be at Danville Memorial Gardens.
