Dana was raised in Cookson, Oklahoma and attended school at Keys Elementary. As a young girl Dana enjoyed riding steers in the local rodeos.
Her family relocated to Riverside, California and she graduated from Ramona High School there in Riverside. Following graduation she moved back to Oklahoma and began attending Northeastern State University. Dana worked as a para-legal and earned her Criminal Justice Degree and graduated in 2004.
Dana began her career with the Department of Human Services where she held many positions. Dana worked until her failing health would no longer allow her to.
Being a strong Democrat Dana enjoyed politics, she wanted people to be aware of the issues and urged them to get out and vote. She was also very aware of the environment and tried to conserve the use of non renewable packaging items.
She liked being comfortable and enjoyed being outdoors camping.
Dana has been preceded in death by her mother, Diana Thornton; and grandmothers, Lorene Thornton and Wanda Martin.
She leaves behind her husband, Rob Rogers of the home; three sons, Eric Bohanon, Zachary Rogers, and Declan Ray Rogers; her father, David Thornton; grandfather, Lonnie Thornton; and brother, David Alan Thornton; and many extended family members, co-workers and friends, and will be missed by all.
