Gladys R. Newman, 91 years of Rarden, died Friday, May 12, 2006 in Atlanta, Georgia.

She was born in Rarden, Ohio on July 13, 1914 the daughter of the late Roy and Faye Hackworth Riley.

She had had worked at General Springs Company until her retirement.

Beside her parents she was preceded in death by one son Ronnie Newman, and three sisters.

She is survived by one son Gerald Newman of Rarden, two daughters and sons-in-law, Helen and Ted Gligor of Cincinnati, Shirley and Sanford Woodford of Marietta, Georgia, one brother, Roy Riley of Rarden, three grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 17, 2006 at 1:00 P.M. at the Wallace Thompson Funeral Home in Peebles with Dave Hopkins officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Joy Cemetery near Rarden.

Friends may call on Wednesday from 12:00 noon till time of service at 1:00 P.M. at the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home.
