Emma M. GEORGE, of Ulysses, PA, died Friday, September 7, 2018 in her daughter’s home in Elkland.

Born May 31, 1936, in Lemon Twp., PA, she was the daughter of Cyrus M. and Bernice P. Evans Tripp. She was married to James C. George, who predeceased her on February 10, 2003.

She and her husband owned and operated the Hitchin’ Post in Shongo, NY. Emma was a member of the Ulysses United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, and Ulysses Library Book Club.

Surviving are: four daughters, Francilla (Ted) Jankowski of Erin, NY, Vicky (Joe) Veon of Elkland, PA, Linda (Harry “Bo”) Brown of Harrisburg, PA, and Faye Youmans of Halifax; a son, Durwood “Clay” (Nancy) Ianson of Millersburg; two daughters-in-law, Brenda Kilburne of Fredericksburg, VA and Marsha Kilburne of Sparks, NV; a step-son, Jack (Susanne) George of Kennewick, WA; a step-daughter, Rev. Beth George of East Berlin; 16 grandchildren; 25 best-grandchildren; five sisters, Jessie Abbey of Lakeland, FL, June (Richard) Atkins of Perkins, OK, Sylvia Clark of Addison, NY, Velma Quick of Hickory, NC, and Marilyn (Keith) Padgett of Addison, NY; a brother, David Tripp of Wilmington, NC.

In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by three sons, Herman Kilburne, III, Brian Scott Kilburne, and infant James C. Kilburne; two sisters, Loretta M. Cady and Dorothy Allen; three brothers, Paul Tripp, Charles Tripp, and Wayne Tripp.

Funeral Service: Ulysses United Methodist Church
on Sunday, September 9, 2018 4:00 PM.
The Rev. Todd Lamer will officiate.
Burial will be in Ulysses Cemetery.
