Evelyn Rowena "Lynne" Hendricks, 81, Leavenworth, Kansas, passed away Wednesday, September 5, 2018 at the Presbyterian Manor in Emporia, Kansas.


Lynne was born February 8, 1937 in St. Albans, England the daughter of Cecil Edward "Ted" and Hannah Elizabeth "Betty" Foster. On June 28, 1958 she married Donald W. Hendricks in St. Albans, England.


She is survived by her son David and wife Shanda and their children Danny and Kelsey of Emporia. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, son Daniel and sister Sheena.


After graduating from high school she spent five years performing with the John Tiller Girls Dance Troupe, the premier dance troupe in Europe. With the Tiller Girls she toured Europe often performing with some of the biggest stars in show business, such as Bob Hope. In 2004 she retired from Revlon where she had spent 20 years as a beauty consultant at the Ft. Leavenworth Post Exchange.


She was a Past Matron of Byington Chapter No. 177 Order of the Eastern Star and served as the Worthy Grand Matron of the Grand Chapter of Kansas, Order of the Eastern Star in 2004.


She was a very loving and caring person, who never met a stranger and who would give the shirt off her back to someone in need. She loved her grandkids so much that the when they were together nothing or no one else mattered. They always had her undivided attention.


Visitation was on Wednesday, September 12, 2018 at the Davis Funeral Chapel with an Eastern Star service at 7:30 pm. The funeral service was held Thursday, September 13, 2018 in the St. Paul's Episcopal Church, with graveside service following at the Leavenworth National Cemetery.
