Nancy Rachel Hawks, 77, entered into eternal rest during the early morning hours of Thursday (September, 6 2018) surrounded by her loving family at her home. Rachel was born on August 25, 1941 in Lebanon, VA to the late Turner & Leona (Morrison) Harmon.

Rachel truly had the heart of a servant, always serving others and never expecting anything in return. She worked as a Registered Nurse for over 50 years. She was a devout Christian and a member of Sunnyside Baptist Church since 1978. Rachel was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend; she will be greatly missed.

In addition to her parents, Rachel was preceded in death by two brothers, Joe and Leonard Harmon.

Left to cherish her memories are her son, Brad Hawks and girlfriend, Tracey Cline; daughter, Laura Dunn & husband Ken; three sisters, Nell Hanson, Peggy Nininger, and Mary Linkous; grandson, Cody Nidiffer; two great-grandchildren; best friend, Janet Rachel; special friend, Pat Bowers; several nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.

The family will greet guests and share memories on Monday (September, 10 2018) from 6 to 8 pm at East Lawn Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday (September 11, 2018) at 1 pm in the chapel at East Lawn Funeral Home with Pastor Jack Parrot and Pastor Darrell Harmon officiating. Committal services will follow in the Christus Garden at East Lawn Memorial Park. Serving as pallbearers will be Brad Hawks, Cody Nidiffer, Ken Dunn, Richard Cline, and Austin Cline.
