Donald "Pops" Abney, age 74, of Canton, GA passed away Saturday, May 12, 2018 at his residence. "Pops" was a member of the Ring of Honor at Cherokee County High School and was a volunteer for many years with Cherokee High School Athletics. He was voted into the Gridiron Club Hall of Fame for his volunteer work. The Cherokee High School Football Field House was named "Pops Place" in his honor.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM, on Tuesday, May 15, 2018, from the Chapel of South Canton Funeral Home with Bro. Marcus Fox officiating. Interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Monday, May 14, 2018, and from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at South Canton Funeral Home.
