JOYCE YVONNE BLAIR January 25, 1930 – August 7, 2014 Graveside service for Joyce Yvonne Blair, 84, of Fairview, Okla., will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2014, at the Bierig Family Cemetery, Okeene, Okla. Arrangements are by Fairview Funeral Home Inc. Arrangements are by Fairview Funeral Home Inc. Joyce died in her sleep at her home on Thursday, Aug. 7, 2014, in Phoenix, Ariz. Joyce Yvonne Blair, daughter of the late Floyd Blair and Martha (Bierig) Blair, was born Jan. 25, 1930, in Isabella, Okla. She attended Fairview High School. She graduated from Northern Illinois University and earned an elementary teaching credential. She worked several years as a teacher in Sterling, Ill. Joyce also received her real estate license and sold homes in her local area. At the age of 50, she attended nursing school and became an LPN. She worked 10 years at the State of Oklahoma Rehabilitation Hospital in Norman, Okla. She retired in 1993. Joyce enjoyed quilting as a hobby until her late-70s. She made quilts for each of her children and grandchildren. Her belief in God sustained her through periods of sorrow and disappointments, as well as times of joyfulness. Joyce married Lloyd Wiggins in 1948. They had three sons, Dewayne, Roger and Steve. She married Winston Slick of Illinois in 1965. They had two children, Linda and David.
