LARRY EDWARD PARSONS age 81, passed away, Wednesday, August 29, 2018 at St. Mary of the Woods rehab facility in Avon, Ohio. He was born on July 1, 1937 in Columbus, Ohio but grew up in New Kensingon, PA. He attended Duke University where he earned a degree in Engineering and was a member of the Beta Theta Pi fraternity. After college he joined the Marine Corps reserves. His first job was with Alcoa in Detroit, then Howmet Corp. in Columbus and finally was president of Ken-Mac Metals in Middleburg Heights, Ohio until his retirement. He spent his summers at Put-in-Bay, Ohio since 1976. He loved boating, fishing, golf, studying the stock market and especially gardening. His garden was admired by many. Larry loved life. He was a loving husband of 51 years to Julie A. (nee Jeffrey); brother of Ronald (deceased) (Cynthia); brother -in-law to Janet and John Coggins; uncle of John Parsons (Shannon) and Julie Parsons Fox (Roger); Christy Dillon (Tod) and John Coggins (Dawn); son of the late Brooks and Frances (nee Miller) Parsons. Celebrate Larry’s life at Pier W, 12700 Lake Ave, Lakewood, Saturday, Sept. 29th at 11:30 AM. Larry will be laid to rest at Maple Leaf Cemetery, Put-in-Bay, Ohio. Family suggests memorial contributions to Wounded Warrior Project, Donor Care Center, P.O. Box 758541, Topeka, Kansas 66675-8541 or to Crossroads Hospice, 9775 Rockside Rd #270, Valley View, OH 44125.
