Roy Junior Woods, 81, of Ottumwa died September 2, 2018 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.
He was born January 22, 1937 in Downing, MO to Roy T. and Daisy Piper Woods. He married Phyllis Saner June 19, 1982 in Memphis, MO.
He was raised in Downing and Memphis, MO. He farmed for years with his father before his career as an over-the-road truck driver covering the United States and Canada.
He loved truck driving, hunting and wood working.
Surviving is his wife, Phyllis Mae Woods; 3 daughters; 4 step-daughters; 11 grandchildren and 7 great- grandchildren; a sister, Lou Jean Simmons of Chicago.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday at Reece Funeral Home. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery.
Visitation with the family present will be one hour prior to the service.
