Mrs. Melissa Riddle Douglas, 44, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2018. Born in West Columbia, she is the daughter of Paul and Elaine Kirkland Riddle.

Melissa was a 1992 graduate of Saluda High School and went on to further her education at the University of South Carolina Aiken graduating in 1997. She was a teacher at Ridge Spring-Monetta Elementary School for several years and was currently employed as the Data Clerk at Hollywood Elementary School. She loved all of the children at Hollywood and was well known for hugging each and everyone of them daily. Melissa was the proud wife of a poultry farmer, an avid Disney fan and loved the Clemson Tigers. She was an active member of Union Lutheran Church, where she taught Sunday School, Children's Church and participated with the youth activities.

Surviving are her husband: David Douglas; daughter: Caitlyn Douglas; her parents; and many other relatives.

Memorial service will be conducted 3 PM on Saturday at Union Lutheran Church with the Rev. Mark Smith and the Rev. Bill Ebener officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM on Friday at Barr-Price Funeral Home and Crematorium, Historic B-L Chapel. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Union Lutheran Church, 4077 Hwy 378, Leesville SC 29070. Barr-Price Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
