His parents are both buried in the Fisher/Kellam/Murden/Herrick family cemetery in Virginia Beach, Virginia. William was born in what was then Princess Anne County (now Virginia Beach city), Virginia. He married Adelia A. "Delia" Widgeon on January 7, 1886.
