Herbert Francis Boyd, 84, died this morning at his home. For 15 years Mr. Boyd worked for Socony in Athol, Mass. For the rest of his life he engaged in farming here. Since 1934 he had operated the so-called White farm. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Covey Funeral Home. Reginald Martin, pastor of the Baptist Church, will officiate. Burial will take place in Riverview Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Friday evening from 7 to 9. Born in Wilmington May 26, 1878, he was the son of Edmund and Celestia (Edson) Boyd. He was first married, is 1903, to the former Mabel Whitney of Vernon. She died in 1932. His second wife, the former Mrs. Minton (Temple) White, died in 1949. He is survived by one brother, Homer Boyd of Pittsfield, Mass., two nephews and one niece.
