Preceded in death by his parents Alf and Helen.Allen Casmer Finsrud, 82, of Atwater, Minnesota, passed away the morning of Wednesday, 5 September 2018, in the Belgrade Nursing Home, Belgrade, Minnesota.

Allen was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota on Monday, 1 June 1936 to Alf and Helen (Foss) Finsrud. He grew up in Minneapolis and Atwater and, in 1955, graduated from Atwater High School. He then attended the University of Minnesota and North Hennepin Community College and, in 1958, enlisted in the U. S. Army from which he was later received an honorable discharge.

In 1960, Allen married to Jeanne Nelson and the couple made their home in Brooklyn Park. Allen worked as a retail buyer for Montgomery Ward and ACE Hardware for nineteen years. Following his retirement in 1997, he worked part time as a salesman for Watkins' products.

In 2005, Allen and Jeanne divorced.

Allen attended the Assembly of God Church in Willmar. He enjoyed fantasy football, gardening and music. He was an avid sports fan of the Minnesota Vikings', Twins' and Gophers' teams.

He is survived by two children, Joy Hein of Apex, NC and Scott Finsrud of Clifton Park, NY and their mother, Jeanne Finsrud of Winsted, MN. Also surviving are two grandchildren, Tanner (and Kari) Hein and Joshua (and Beth) Hein and four great grandchildren, Grace, Ethan, Bryn Lee and Madison, besides other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 P.M., on Monday, 19 September 2018 with funeral services at 10:30 A.M., on Tuesday, 11 September in the Peterson Brothers' Funeral Home of Willmar, Minnesota. Interment will then take place in the Union Cemetery, Atwater with military honors provided by the Willmar American Legion Post #167.
