Kay Yvonne Bannister Morgan age 83, passed away on September 3, 2018 in Longview, Texas.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 7, 2018 at Post Oak Cemetery in Oglesby, with Rev. Kim Beckham officiating.

She was born to the late Travis and Johnny Ruth Bannister on November 30, 1934 in Coryell County. She lived many years in Odessa, Oglesby, and most recently in Longview Texas. She graduated from Oglesby High School and went on to attend 4-C Business School in Waco. “Mama Kay” as she was known to all, was a seamstress and quilter by day and loved sewing quilts for her loved ones. She retired from the Texas Department of Criminal Justice as a correctional officer in Gatesville. Her artistic flair can be seen in her painted landscapes of nature, her pottery and crafts that she has shared with loved ones over the years. Her love of reading & listening to audiobooks has been passed down to her grandchildren. Traveling many miles, led her to visit every state in the United States. She instilled that same travel adventure in her son, daughter and grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; youngest son, Travis Anthony “Trey” Morgan; and a brother, William Travis “Billy” Bannister.

She is survived by her daughter, Gail Acker and husband Randy, of Tatum; son, Nyle Morgan of Midland; beloved sister & caregiver, Brenda Haviland and husband, Lane; 10 grandchildren, Cody Orms and wife, Corinna of Tatum, Chris Acker and wife, Theo of Waxahachie, Jereme Acker of Hillsboro, Dustin Acker and wife, Stephanie of Clear Lake, Jonathan Morgan of College Station, Michelle Gall and husband, Matt of Katy, Shelby Bell and husband, Dustin of Ore City , Stormie Hobbs and husband, Robert of Ore City, Kaleigh White and husband, Kurt of Whitehouse; 18 great grandchildren, Mason Orms, Emmy Orms, Reagan Thomas, Haley Acker, Peyton Acker, Vivian Acker, Bethany Acker, Paxton Acker, Isabelle Acker, Ellie White, Kilana Gall, Kason Gall, Parker Hobbs, Fischer Hobbs, Brendan Darnold, Gunnar Darnold, Deacon Bell, Analynn Bell; and many nieces & nephews who loved their Aunt Kay.
