Peggy Perry of Statesville, died Tuesday, September 4, 2018 at Maple Leaf Health Care. Mrs. Perry was born in Iredell County on January 16, 1928 to the late Albert Thomas Coley and Mary Helen Carr Coley. She attended Iredell County schools.

On November 27, 1946 she married Clyde Melton Perry who passed away on January 8, 2009. Together they took care of the family dairy farm for 62 years.

Mrs. Perry was a lifelong member of Shiloh United Methodist Church.

Along with her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by an infant son.

Left to cherish her memory are her two daughters, Jane Perry Stroud (Wayne) of Statesville and Beverly Perry Burkhart (Jack) of Lexington, NC and one son, Rev. Steve Perry (Jennie) of Statesville. She is also survived by two sisters, Norma Sue Coley White (Wilson) and Shirley Coley Harris (Melvin), both of Statesville. Eight grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, neighbors and friends that she loved and cherished dearly also survive.

A celebration of life service will be conducted at 10:00 AM Saturday, September 8 at Shiloh UMC Church with Rev. David Minor officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The body will lie in state for thirty minutes prior to the funeral service. The family will visit with friends following the graveside service in the sanctuary.

“We would like to extend our sincerest appreciation to Dr. Carla Pence and her staff along with the staff of Maple Leaf Health Care for taking such loving and special care of our mama. She called it her home. She loved each and every one who took such good care of her.”
