RUTH BURNS

was born in Lauderdale County, Alabama on May 24, 1937 the daughter of the late Jack and Geneva Crosslin.

On July 17, 1954 she was united in marriage to Charles Will Burns, Jr., who survives.

Ruth was an inspector for Garan Manufacturing. She was a strong Christian lady and was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ. The last few years of her life she was a member of Walnut Grove Church of Christ. Ruth enjoyed sewing, cooking, shopping with the girls and spending time with her family. Everyone knew Ruth was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She always had a warm smile and hello to give to everyone. Ruth always put others first.

She departed this life on September 3, 2018 in Savannah, Tennessee at the age of 81 years, 3 months and 10 days.

In addition to her husband, Charles of 64 years, she is survived by her children, Charles Burns and his wife, Mary of Florence, Alabama, June Highland and her husband David of Savannah, Tennessee, Janet Rich and her husband Jerry of Savannah, Tennessee, Carl Burns of Savannah, Tennessee and Gary Burns and his wife Melissa of Florence, Alabama; 20 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren, 6 great great grandchildren; three brothers, Donald, Gaylon and Waylon Crosslin; three sisters, Joyce Wright, Patricia Hicks and Brenda King.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one brother, Gene Crosslin, three grandchildren, Jeremy Welch, Michael Collier and Jamie Leighann Guynes and her grandparents,James and Ellen Crosslin and Jones and Emma Whitten.
