Kent Bentley Hurt, 75, of Roanoke, passed away on Friday, December 7, 2012.
He was the son of Carl Thomas Hurt and Mary Louise Long Hurt. He was married to Alice Ulrey 29 Dec 1955 • Salem, Culpeper, Virginia. They have two children, Dawn and Darden ,and were divorced 24 Aug 1961 • Roanoke, Virginia. He married Marilyn Wilmer in 1962. They have two children, Timothy and Donna. He served in the United States Air Force from 1955 to 1962, retired from Norfolk and Western Railroad where he worked as a electrician. He was a life long member of Red Hill Baptist Church.
Preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Carl, Jr. and Bill Hurt.
He is survived by his wife, Helen Hurt; two sons, Darden and Timothy Hurt of Roanoke; two daughters, Dawn Martin Keenan, of Chilhowee, MO, Donna Hurt Christian, of Salem, VA; grandchildren, Bill Martin, of OK, Mary Bone, of TX, Philip and Chad Christian, of Salem, VA; one brother, John Hurt, of SC.
Interment was private at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens on Tuesday, December 11, 2012.
