Joe DeMeyer was born in Spooner, Douglas Co., Wisconsin and grew up in Superior, Wisconsin. He later removed to Richland, Washington in the early 1940's where he worked for highly secured company missions and later with Westinghouse and other government organizations and projects. While in Superior, Joe worked for the railroad. He was also a talented musician. He and his combo played "gigs" throughout the region and backed up singers such as the great "Bing" Crosby, a crooner singer, who lived in Spokane, Washington at the time.
