Renee M. Webb was born in Columbia, S.C. on January 17, 1944 and passed away in Gun Barrel City, TX. on August 5, 2018. She was the oldest of three children of the late Robert E. (Buddy) Webb, Jr. and the late Lillian Hilliard Webb.
She graduated from Eau Claire High School in 1961, attended Winthrop College and received her BA in Human Resource Management from Columbia College. As a Legal Secretary, she worked for various attorneys and judges in the Columbia area and received numerous professional awards. Renee loved music and had a beautiful singing voice; she worked at Pecknel Music Company and sang professionally for over ten years with various trios and big bands. She also acted in community theater. Being very sociable and having a great sense of humor, Renee had many friends throughout her life. She was a member of the Lutheran Church of the Ascension in Columbia and Mount Tabor Lutheran Church in West Columbia, where she sang in the choirs and was an active participant in church activities. She also volunteered as an adult literacy coach, helping adults learn and love to read.
Renee is survived by her daughter: Nichole Ballington (Robert) Lupo; granddaughter: Cora Lupo of Decatur, GA; sister: Melanie R. (Yolanda Salitrero) Webb of Chapin, SC; brother: Paul D. (Sandy Hennies) Webb of Columbia, SC; nephew: Dennis M. Graber; grandnephew: Jacob Graber and grandniece: Morgan Graber of Lexington; Katie Webb (Jason) Weden of Duncan, SC; and Larry Lineburger of Gun Barrel, TX. She will be missed by other loving family members and many friends.
A memorial service will be held at the Ascension Lutheran Church, 827 Wildewood Avenue Columbia, SC 29203, Saturday, September 8, 2018 at 3 PM with a reception following in the Fellowship Hall.
