WASSON – T. O. (JERRY) JR., age 43 of Dayton, Tenn., passed away unexpectedly early Wednesday morning at his residence. Mr. Wasson was the son of Mr. T. O. Wasson Sr. and the late Bessie Mae Luty Wasson. He was principal of the Graysville Elementary School and legislative chairman of the Rhea County-Dayton City School Association. He was a member of the First Methodist Church of Dayton and a veteran of World War II. Other survivors are his wife, Mary Margaret Darwin Wasson, two sons, Jim and Tom Wasson, all of Dayton; two sisters, Mrs. F. D. Furnace, Nashville, and Mrs. S. L. Kiffer, Newport News, Va.; one brother, Col. John C. Wasson, Arlington, Va.; grandmother, Mrs. John Luty, Spring City, Tenn. Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 2:30 p.m. from the first Methodist Church with the Revs. Curtis Wagoner and Dale Bittinger officiating. Interment in Buttram Cemetery. Pallbearers are Gordon Darwin, Charles Darwin, Joe Bean, Dr. Garland Taylor, William H. Corvin, Condon Wasson, G. A. Crawford, and Jack Boyght. Honorary pallbearers are the faculty of the Graysville school. The body will remain at the funeral home until one hour before the service at which time it will be taken to the church to lie in state. Coulter Funeral Home of Dayton in charge of arrangements.
