MATTHEWS, Joann Belle (Martin) of Mayville, age 79, passed away December 13, 2009 at Fisher Senior Care and Rehab Center. A Funeral Service will be held 11 am Friday, December 18, 2009 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 E. Davison Rd., Davison; Pastor Daryl Taylor officiating. Private burial will take place in Flint Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-4 & 6-8 PM Thursday; 10-11 am Friday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Community Baptist Church, Davison. Joann was born in Bellaire, MI on September 3, 1930, daughter of the late Raymond and Orilla (Hilton) Martin. Joann Martin married Eugene Matthews on March 1, 1952. She was a member of Juniata Baptist Church in Vassar. Joann loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed crocheting, gardening and flowers. Joann is survived by her husband of over 57 years, Eugene; children, David (Bonnie) Matthews, Sharon (Bob) Riley; grandchildren, Robert (Francis) Riley, Janell (David) Herald; great-grandchildren, Alexia, Jadon and Sophia Riley; sister, Betty Mason; brother, Robert (Linda) Martin and many nieces and nephews.
