Don was born on February 26, 1931 to Fred and Lilly Burghard in Ritzville, Washington. He served honorably in the United States Army during the Korean War.
Don was a Seattle Seahawks and Mariners fan who liked to play pinochle and watch John Wayne movies, but he especially loved to spend time with family.
Survivors include his wife, Lorraine; children Judy (John) Burghard-Rice, Mishelle (Jeff) Burghard-LaRoche, Barrett (Kristin) Burghard, and Russell Burghard; grandchildren, Michael, Barrett, Tanner, Beau, and Jade. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Vicki Sue.
Graveside services with military honors will be held at 2 p.m., September 14, 2018 at Pioneer Memorial Gardens.
Arrangements are with Kayser's Chapel of Moses Lake.
