Services honoring and remembering the life of Jerry Wayne Leach will be at 2 p.m. Friday, June 2, 2017 at the First Assembly of God in Foyil. Jerry passed away peacefully in his sleep Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at his residence. He was 65

Jerry was born on March 20, 1952 in Fresno, Calif., but grew up in Willamette Valley, Ore. He graduated from Gervais Union High School in 1970, then moved to Oklahoma when he was 19, where he met his wife Wanda and started his family.

Here, he worked as a used car mechanic and salesman, and was a Jack of all trades. In the final years of his life, Jerry developed a love and passion for riding and collecting motorcycles. He was a very resourceful and independent man who relied only on his AA family and on God, but was relied upon by many. For the last 23 years of his life, one of the things he was most proud of was his sobriety.

He is preceded in death by his son, Carter Wayne; his brother, Freddy Dale; his sisters, Linda and Karen; his mother and father Lottie Mae and Fred Leach; his second wife Becky Lewis; and close friends, Bob and Norma Blackwood.

He is survived by his daughter, Jerri Dawn and her fiancé Lonnie Battenfield; his brothers and sisters, Pat, Charles, Carolyn, Joyce, Glenna, Diane, Merle, Berle, David, Randy, Ronnie, Trudy, and Dennis; his grandchildren Whitney, Dillon, Jeremy, Miky, Makaelah, Hannah, C.J., Haley, and Kade; his great-grandson Noah Wayne; his first wife, lifelong friend, and mother of his children, Wanda Leach; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and other family members.

If we were to ask him today how he was doing, we're sure he'd say, "Pretty good for an old fat man."
We'll forever miss you, Papa Jerry.
