Guy B. Palmer lovingly known as Bert to his family and close friends, passed away in Monticello, UT on November 30, 2017.

Born in Cortez, CO on September 26, 1931, he was the son of Ruth and Guy Palmer. Bert grew up in Blanding, UT. He graduated from San Juan High School in 1950. Shortly after graduation he joined the Marine Corp. where he honorably served.

Bert married the love of his life, Jane Winters, in 1954. This marriage was later solemnized in the Manti Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1958.

Bert and Jane were the parents of five children, Debra Kay, Joyce Ann, Colleen Ruth, Robert Allen and Jerry Dean.

When they first got married, they lived in Monticello where Bert worked at the Uranium Mill. They moved back to Blanding to raise their children.

While living in Blanding, Bert served in the Indian Branch of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served many roles and made many friends.

Eventually Bert moved his family to Scottsdale, AZ. He lived there until his divorce and then went back to Blanding.

Bert would spend a couple of months putting up lights around his home for Christmas; it was a beautiful display enjoyed by many. He enjoyed gardening and having beautiful yards. Bert loved to bead and made many beaded belts.

After Bert’s home was heavily damaged by fire, he moved to Monticello to be closer to his sisters. He lived here until his passing.

Bert was peacefully laid to rest in Blanding, UT next to his parents, Ruth and Guy Palmer, and two children, Joyce Ann and Jerry Dean, and his sister, Geniveve Newberry. His ex-wife Jane passed away November 5, 2017.

He is survived by his children Debra Fisk (Ben), Colleen Winkler, and Robert; grandchildren Jeff, B.J., Shelby, Charlene, Danny and Brad, all of Arizona; and his sisters Maxine Christensen of Monticello and Virginia Carlson of Spanish Fork.
