Dolores G. Messenger, 86, of Waterford, Ohio, died on Saturday, September 1, 2018 at Marietta Memorial Hospital in Marietta. She was born on August 11, 1932 in Weston, WV, daughter of Cecil C. and Amanda Burkhammer Collins.

She retired from The Standard Oil Company in Cleveland, Ohio, after 30 years of service. She graduated from Weston High School in Weston, WV, in 1949. Dolores was married on December 23, 1950 to Ernest H. Messenger who died January 24, 2003. She is survived by a daughter, Debbie Burkhammer of Waterford; three grandchildren, Ernie Malec (Teresa) of Waterford, Jason Malec (Trisha) of Hampton, Virginia and Mandy Webb (Chad) of Waterford; six great-grandchildren, Rebecca Sims, Hillary Malec, Cody Malec, Marissa Neader, Elsie Malec and Jaxon Malec; three great-great-grandchildren; also many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and seven siblings.

Services will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in the Waterford Cemetery. McCurdy Funeral Home in Beverly handled the arrangements.
