COOPER, Ross Oliver
Passed away on July 7, 2016 in Tucson, AZ after a courageous 13-year battle with cancer. He was 62.  Ross was born on June 15, 1954 in Sacramento, CA to Major Dowd and Ruth Cooper. The family moved to Sudbury in 1959 and he graduated from Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School in 1972 where he excelled at sports including baseball, soccer and gymnastics.  Ross was on the Massachusetts State Gymnastics team where he finished third in the state for parallel bars after only two years of training, and was a long time member of the Sudbury Mens Softball League. Ross was a self-employed designer and builder of swimming pools for over twenty years as the owner of ROC Contracting and then semi-retired in Tucson in 2003. He was a world traveller, and was commonly referred to as “Mr. Ross” in many foreign and domestic venues.

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Jonathan and Stacy Cooper of Tucson, AZ; granddaughter Shena Cooper; his mother and step-father Colonel Bill and Ruth Cooper-Hayden of San Antonio, TX; sisters Cheryl Cooper and Sandra Cooper both of Tucson, AZ; sister Storme Davidson of Raleigh, NC and sister and brother-in-law Robin Cooper and Spencer Guder of Canterbury, CT; four nieces, 2 grand-nieces, 3 grand-nephews along with his former wife, Nancy Cannalonga Cooper will all miss his outrageous sense of humor and fun-loving spirit.  Ross was preceded in death by his father Dowd and brother David Cooper.  Honoring Ross’s last wishes there will be no service. “Mr. Ross” was laid to rest in Wadsworth Cemetery in Sudbury.
