Claborn Singleton Callahan was born in Mozell, Mississippi, on Oct. 8, 1927 and passed away in Trinity, Texas on July 19, 2018. He is preceded in death by his parents Nina Ella Singleton Callahan and Charles Claborn Callahan, sister Charlene Morris, brother Paul Callahan and son David Callahan. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Sara Lou Callahan, children Joel Booth and wife Joyce, Paula Threatt and husband Charles, Karen Newman and husband James; grandchildren joe and Rhonda Booth, Laura and Scott Halbrooks, Eric and Katherine Threatt, Kimberly and Michael Osborn, Gretchen and Brian Sheets, and Jacob Newman. 12 great grandchildren; brother James H. Callahan and wife Pat, their children, Mark, Lisa, Susan and John and families, niece Mary Sizemore. Numerous other relatives also survive. Clay was active in his Abundant Life Church and was a Faithful Christian Man. He proudly served in the United States Army and was a retired from Iron Workers Union Local 34. Funeral was held Saturday, July 21, 2018, at Abundant Life Church in Huntsville, Texas with Pastor Dennis Graham and Sarah Munoz officiating. Internment followed in Cedar Grove Cemetery in Trinity, Texas.
