Helen Louise (Prior) (Harris) Sands was born on December 22, 1934 in Nashville, Tennessee, the daughter of Neal Brown Prior (1912-1988) and Mary "Margaret" (Gulley) Prior (1918-1976).

She was married 1st on October 17, 1952 to Franklin Eugene Harris (ca 1930- ). She was married 2nd to Burton Parish Sands (1922–2004), the son of William Azell Sands (1880–1952).

Living in Nashville, Tennessee, Helen was 83 years old when she passed away on August 29, 2018.

Preceded in death by her Sands husband, her daughter Sherry Foust and by her grandchildren J R Rogers and Christy Graves, she was survived by a Harris son, three daughters, ten grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren and by two Prior brothers and a sister.

Burial was in Middle Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery.
