Mary Goffigon Belote, 84, wife of the late Harvey W. Belote Jr. and a resident of Cape Charles, passed away Wednesday, May 2, 2007 at her residence. A native of Cape Charles, she was the daughter of the late Clifford Goffigon and the late Hyla Hunt Goffigon. She was a retired bookkeeper for Eastville Bank and a member of Holmes Presbyterian Church. She is survived by a daughter, Jan G. Belote of Richmond, Va.; two sons, Harvey W. Belote III and his wife Jane of Cape Charles, and Reade H. Belote of Smyrna, Del.; four grandchildren, Reade H. Belote Jr. and his wife Caroline of Richmond, Rachel M. Belote of Melfa, Paige B. Addison and her husband Hunt of Cheriton, and Benjamin M. Belote and his wife Jennifer of Richmond; 2 great-grandchildren; and a faithful companion and friend, Alice Ames of Capeville. Funeral services will be conducted today, May 5, at 2 p.m. from the graveside of Cape Cemetery with the Rev. Ernest L. Gardner III officiating.
