Kristin Elizabeth Jenkins, age 49, passed Wednesday, August 29, 2018 at the University of Iowa surrounded by her family and loved ones.

The younger of two children, she was born in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania to Bob and Karen Manners.

She achieved a BA in Music from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Her studies led her to Iowa City, where she earned a BS in Psychology from The University of Iowa.

On November 19th of 1999, she married the love of her life, Tracy Jenkins, and shortly thereafter adopted her children, Bailey and Michael. Her family was her life.

After her diagnosis with MS, not wanting to give up a battle barely begun, she chose to become a leader within the MS community. She established a group of thousands to support one another, which she moderated until she could no longer do so in the winter of 2017.

Since then, she returned to her roots and once more devoted her entire life to her family and daily napping.

She is survived by her parents, husband and two children.

She will be remembered as a loving wife and daughter, amazing mother and unparalleled friend to everyone who knew her.

There will be a visitation at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 2, 2018 at Hrabak-Neuhaus Funeral Service, Belle Plaine, IA.
