George Ellis Crosby was the second child born to Lorenzo and Mollie Wiltbank Crosby and was born on their ranch on Black River (above Eagar Arizona) at what is known as Crosby Crossing. When George was two his father left on a church mission to the Southern States -Virginia Conference and was
shot and killed on the train returning home from his mission.

George was raised in Greer, Arizona in the Apache National Forest of the White Mountains. A book by James Willard Shultz, "In The Great Apache Forest" describes the adventure George had at age 14 when he was a fire guard on Mt Baldy.

George married Florence Leoma "Flossie" Greer in 1922 and they raised their 5 sons and 2 daughters in Greer where George and Florence built, owned and operated a general store and service station for 56 years. George was a rancher, farmer,and renowned hunting guide for elk. He was a Rotarian of note. He was elected to the Arizona Legislature. George & Florence served a mission in the Great Australia West Mission and served as temple workers in the Mesa Arizona Temple for 7 years.
