OWENS, Patrick F. – of Birch Run, age 77, died Sunday, May 6, 2018 at his residence. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in memory of Patrick 10AM Thursday, May 10, 2018 at Ss. Francis and Clare Parish, 12157 Church Street, Birch Run. Rev. Fr. Thomas McNamara officiating. Burial to follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Military honors will be conducted under the direction of VFW Post #7542. The family will receive visitors at the church on Wednesday from 4PM until 8PM and on Thursday from 9AM until the time of Mass at 10AM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Ss. Francis and Clare, Taymouth Township Fire Department, or Sheriff’s Support Division of Saginaw County-Posse.
Patrick was born July 10, 1940 in Birch Run, Michigan to the late John and Genevieve (Malecki) Owens. He graduated from Birch Run High School in 1958. Patrick proudly served in the United States Marine Corps from 1960 to 1964, earning the rank of Corporal. He retired from Eaton Manufacturing in 1994 with 30 years of seniority. All throughout his life he enjoyed working as a part time agricultural farmer. Patrick was a member of Ss. Francis and Clare Catholic Parish and a previous member of Assumption BVM. He enjoyed going to farm auctions and loved staying up to date on all the big news programs.
Surviving are: Sisters: Evelyn Irish, Eleanor (George) Kretz, Clara (Jerry) Morse, and Johanna (Ronald) Bierman; Brother-in-law, Steve Mikulay, and many nieces and nephews.
