Mary, 88, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Wednesday, August 22, 2018 at Woodlawn Meadows Assisted living. Mary was born to Edward and Mamie Barrett.
She married Robert W. Sherwood on October 25, 1952, at Emmanuel Episcopal Church in Hastings, where they were life-long members. Mary was a proud homemaker and a true sportsman; she enjoyed playing bridge, golf, tennis and downhill skiing. For many years she volunteered with the Book Cart and at Pennock gift shop and was a member of Pennock Hospital Guild 39. Mary cherished time spent with her family most and loved her grandchildren dearly. Most will remember Mary as a caring and devout woman who truly left a legacy.
She is preceded in death by her husband; Robert W. Sherwood, parents; Edward L. and Mamie E. (Boone) Barrett and grandson, Barrett Sherwood.
Mary leaves to cherish her memory to her son, Bill (Cindy) Sherwood, of Belmont, Michigan, daughter; Jo Ann (Robert) Kruko, of Hastings, sisters; Barbara Tinsey and Nancy Mitchell, brother; Edward Barrett, grandchildren; Kristen Smith, Molly (Kenji) Kawaguchi, Elly (Joel) Ibbotson, great grandchildren; Andrew Smith, Danielle Smith, Tieler Ibbotson and Ezekiel Ibbotson.
