Mildred Irene Dugan Fox, age 88 of the Bending Chestnut Community near Franklin, Tennessee, passed from this life on Saturday, September 1, 2018 at St. Thomas West Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee. Mildred was born on March 26, 1930 in Nashville to her parents, Lawrence Clayton Dugan and Addie B. Oakley Dugan. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Lynn Gilbert Fox, Sr., and her two brothers, James Perkins “J.P.” Dugan and Johnie Guill Dugan. Mildred married Gilbert Fox on December 24, 1952 and they were together for forty-five years before his death in 1998. Gilbert was a minister, businessman and sawmill operator with his brother T.C. Fox, Jr. They operated Fox Brothers Sawmill in Bending Chestnut for many years.

Mildred is the mother of the country/gospel music group, The Fox Brothers. She is survived by her three sons, Lynn Gilbert (Beverly) Fox, Jr., Randal Brent (Debbie) Fox, Sr., and Roy Dale (Linda) Fox, Sr.; grandchildren, Jessica Dawn (Eric) Reeves, Randal Brent (Chastity) Fox, Jr., Lynn Gilbert “Trey” Fox, III, and Roy Dale Fox, Jr.; great-grandchildren, Madeline Jane “Maddi” Reeves and Luke Jackson Reeves.

Mildred enjoyed music and singing. She also loved church work and supporting her husband’s ministry. She was a dedicated wife, mother, and homemaker. She is remembered for her kindness as a true Christian lady. Mildred was a wonderful daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She is missed by her family and all who knew her.
