Margaret L. Wright, 96, of West Frankfort, Illinois, died Thursday August 30, 2018 at 12:40 pm at Archway Rehab in Energy.
She was born May 31, 1922 in Johnston City, Illinois to Ira E. and Eva Leigh Bearden.
Margaret married Francis M. Wright on June 22, 1941 in Cape Girardeau. He passed away January 1, 1999.
She was a member of the First Church of God, Rt. 37 South, which she dearly loved.
Margaret worked for her father at Bearden’s Grocery store in West Frankfort until he passed away.
After marriage, she worked at Sangamo Electric Company for six years. Margaret and her husband were owners and operators of Wright TV Sales & Service in West Frankfort for 38 years before their retirement. They were also owners and operators of The Ceramic Shop for several years.
She was active in Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts along with her husband. Margaret had many blessed friends and she loved everyone.
Margaret is survived by her daughter-in-law, L Wright; two step grandchildren, Kim (Chad); Kyle (Lisa); four step great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Also surviving is one niece Ardith; Three nephews Douglas, J Bearden, and Charles; Great-nephew S Wright; Special friends LaDonna, Neighbors Tina and George, and Sandy and Jimmy. And nephew G Wright.
She was preceded in death by her husband; daughter, Brenda Kay (3 ½ years of age;), son, Warren Wright; her parents; two brothers: Bernell and Valdene Bearden; two sisters, Roberta Messer and Maxine Williams; nephew, Brad Wright.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday September 3, 2018 at the Union Funeral Home – West Frankfort, Illinois.
Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery – Johnston City, Illinois. Visitation will be held from 9:00-11:00 a.m. prior to the service.
