Jeffrey Arlen Thornton, 61 of Tipp City, Ohio, passed away Monday, August 13, 2018 at his home after a short illness. Jeff was born September 6, 1956 in Troy, Ohio to James and Jean (Alletson) Thornton. He graduated from Troy High School in 1975. He enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1976. After retiring in 1996, Jeff worked for Wright Patterson AFB as an HVAC technician until he retired a second time in 2017. Jeff enjoyed traveling, reading , working around his home, and camping with his family.
Jeff is survived by his wife Nancy, his daughter Tara of Centerville, Ohio, his two sons Brett (Amanda) of Huber Heights, and Joel (Amanda) of Centerville, Ohio, 2 grandsons, Conor and Murphy, brother Jay (Patty) of Troy Ohio, as well 4 step children. He is preceded in death by his parents James and Jean (Alletson) Thornton. Jeff will be celebrated in a private ceremony at Riverside Cemetery in Troy, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that any donations be made to Jeff’s name to Hospice of Dayton.
